voox turns recordings of speech into text. To do that it has to handle your recordings, and this page explains exactly what happens to them, in plain language.
What we collect
Your account. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address and name. When you sign in with an email code, just the email address.
Your recordings. Audio you upload or record in voox is converted on your device to a standard format and stored in private cloud storage that only your account can read.
Your transcripts. The text voox produces, your corrections to it, speaker names you add, and anything you generate from it — briefs, translations.
How you use voox. Events like "a transcript was created" or "a file was exported", the answers you give to our short questions (how accurate it was, how you heard about us), and anything you write in feedback. We use these to understand what works, not to build a profile of you.
Dictation. On the dictation page, audio is not stored. The resulting text is stored without being linked to an account, so we can measure accuracy.
What we do with it
We use your data to provide voox — transcribing, storing and showing your work back to you — and to measure and improve its accuracy. We do not sell your data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Who processes it
voox runs on cloud providers for hosting, for the database and file storage, and for the AI speech and language processing that produces transcripts, briefs and translations. They process your data only to provide those services to us, under their data-processing terms.
How long we keep it
We keep recordings and transcripts so that we can keep improving accuracy. Removing a transcript takes it out of your library, but does not erase it. We say this plainly because it matters.
You can have everything erased at any time: go to Settings → Your data → Request erasure. We will permanently delete your recordings, transcripts and account data within 30 days and confirm when it is done.
Sharing
A transcript is visible to anyone only if you create a share link for it. A shared link shows the text, never the audio, and you can turn it off at any time.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Recordings sit in private storage that is readable only through your signed-in session. Database access is restricted so that each account can reach only its own rows.
Your rights
You can see, correct and export your transcripts in the app, and request erasure from Settings. For anything else, use the Feedback option in the app and a person will answer.
